CRITTERS

I wanted to begin focusing on physical computing, becoming interested in the way sensors can be used as an interface into a more interactive artwork. The Critters made use of infrared photo-diodes in order to trigger a motor that would excite a plastic housing, generating both harsh and humorous sounds following viewer interaction. The use of vivid colour complimented the surrounding tapestry installation and both contrasted the woodland the work was situated in.

This project was my addition to the “Shed in the woods” area at Supernormal festival 2019 as part of the “In Transit” installation by Do-IY collective.
