My first experiments have grown out of re-adapting old equipment that I have collected over the past years. The first device that I have played with is the Yamaha EMP100, this digital effect processor has produced some interesting sounds when a feedback loop has been created within itself. The processor has 150 different settings which after playing through I have come to realise that there are around 3/5 main types of feedback noises that can be created, all of which can be expressively controlled with the input volume as well as switching between a bypassed state and a processed state. Here are some initial sound recordings of my first plays with the device. I am also using my xone:23 DJ mixer in order to apply EQ, filter and volume parameters to the sounds created.
