From rehearsals with the ensemble, I learned that I was lacking in impact sounds, I also had issues with some of the mini jack to phono cables I was using, the cables being loose and causing unwanted noise during the rehearsal. I exchanged it with sturdier cabling and began to think of ways to expand my palette. Going back to the Tascam I have loaded a load of samples that have either gestural, impact or textural qualities. I made sure to include sine tones as well as square waves also.
Setting up a feedback loop between the EMP100 and FX600 set to pitch shifter I began triggering the feedback with the samples loaded. I found this configuration of my gear to be the most effective at allowing the Tascam to trigger the feedback, setting a level just before the tipping point with both pedal and unit.
I also explored using the 3 band EQ on the mixer, using it to stop the whole signal and then just allow parts through.
